In Australia the medications we can utilize to help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and to enhance volume fall under the category of Schedule 4 Medications. This means they are monitored and require a script to be administered. A Registered Nurse or Doctor must provide the treatment. Not only for legal reasons, but we must have sound knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology to carry out these cosmetic medical procedures.
-
That’s a good question. TGA guidelines prohibit us from advertising certain treatments as they include S4 category medications. Book a consultation, which is always complementary, to discuss all options with zero obligation.

Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. However, when it comes to needle pokes, most clients compare the sensation as a quick prick. There is a slight pinching feeling, but it only lasts for a few seconds. Some injection sites may sting more than others, but it is very quick and bearable.
With adding volume again it will feel like a pinching, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. Pain, however, is such a personal and subjective thing. It all depends on your tolerance and on the treatment area. We can use numbing cream on certain areas.

Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours prior as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin, Vitamin E and fish oil or other blood thinners should not be taken one week before the treatment.

Preventative treatments may be a good option for some. Starting to look after your skin early will work wonders for you later on however if you are a very expressive person you may benefit from additional treatments. You can always book in a complimentary consultation with me to discuss more with no obligation on the day.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) prohibit advertising of specific brand names of prescription only medications. To adhere to this we are unable to publish the brand names and certain generic descriptions of some treatments. Rest assured, we only use market-leading brands. At your complimentary consultation, we can discuss the options suitable to you freely, including specific brand names, dosing, costs and all associated risks/side effect and aftercare.

Results can begin to be seen a few days after the treatment. By 7 to 14- days they will reach their full effect. The effects can last for up to 3-4 months depending on the individual and dosing.
It is recommended to repeat the treatment before the muscle movements return to normal which is typically 3-4 months. It will, however, depend on your own metabolism, dosing and product used. This way there is an overlap in results and a continued softening effect. We can discuss all this at your initial treatment consult.
With adding volume, again, it depends on your body and metabolism as well as product choice and location. Some results can last from 6 months through to up to 24 months. We will discuss in depth face to face when we can speak freely about brands and specific products.

Don’t touch your face for at least four hours after your treatments. After this time, you can use a gentle cleanser. You want to use something that’s gentle and calming as we have irritated your skin by poking tiny holes in it!
I would suggest something like the Skinstitute Gentle Cleanser (available at LCA Clinics).
Why it's good!
>Purifies, calms and hydrates without irritating the skin.
>Suitable for all skin types. Gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin thanks to aloe vera and cucumber seed oil.
>Safe to use on eyes and lips.
>Provides support and repair thanks to botanicals such as green tea and goji berry.
>Safe to use morning and night, pre- and post-treatments
Work a pea-sized amount into wet hands and use all over your face, neck and dec. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry (don’t rub).
FYI LCA Skin Therapists also offer complimentary consults to discuss and address any other skin issues you may have. Book a consult with them now, and let them know I sent you!

Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we do not treat clients who are pregnant. We advise against all cosmetic treatments whilst pregnant simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on treatment effects on the fetus.
